EMPOWERED TO SERVE WITH EXCELLENCE: NPRA MANAGEMENT INSPIRES STAFF AT CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK CLIMAX
The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) climaxed its 2025 Customer Service Week celebration with a vibrant health walk that brought together staff, corporate trustees, service providers, and other stakeholders under the theme “Empowered to Serve with Excellence Every Step of the Way.”
The event, which took place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, was graced by senior management and saw strong participation from staff across all NPRA offices.
Delivering remarks on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Philemon Laar, Director for Planning, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, commended staff for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment throughout the week’s celebration. He congratulated all participants for completing the walk, describing it as “a refreshing and inspiring way to end a week that celebrates service, teamwork, and dedication.”
Mr. Laar emphasized that the health walk was not only about fitness but also symbolized the importance of maintaining good health, positive energy, and unity, which are essential for achieving excellence in service delivery.
He noted that a healthy and motivated workforce is central to NPRA’s ability to deliver on its mandate of protecting the pension rights and benefits of contributors and retirees across Ghana.
Reflecting on the theme for the celebration, Mr. Laar emphasized that empowerment is not a one-time act but a continuous process. He encouraged staff to carry the spirit of teamwork and commitment from the week into their daily work. “Let us continue to serve with dedication, empathy, and purpose. Together, we can build a pension system that Ghanaians trust and one that secures their future,” he stated.
He also commended NPRA’s partners, including Trustees, Pension Fund Managers, and Custodians, for their collaboration and continued support of the Authority’s mission. He encouraged all stakeholders to remain committed to ensuring effective complaint handling, timely benefit payments, and the expansion of pension coverage, especially within the informal sector.
In closing, Mr. Laar, speaking on behalf of the CEO, thanked all staff and participants for their commitment, urging them to remain motivated and uphold the Authority’s values of professionalism, integrity, consistency, responsibility and excellence. The health walk, he said, should serve as a reminder that teamwork, discipline, and wellness go hand in hand with effective service delivery.
